THE KY KHALIL CO WEDDING + ELOPEMENT COLLECTION
Your life is already a love letter. Before I ever pick up the camera, I read it closely, the way a decade of story and a literature MA taught me to, for the themes and symbols and throughlines that could only be yours. Then I build a whole experience that lets you live them out loud. Because every love letter deserves a reader who catches all of it.
BEFORE I TAKE A SINGLE PHOTOGRAPH
you're already living
YOU LOVE CINEMA, BEAUTIFUL PHOTOGRAPHS, THE LOOK OF FILM.
BUT MORE THAN ANYTHING:
YOU LOVE YOUR LIFE,
And you want it all documented the way it feels to live it.
IT ALWAYS STARTS WITH A CALL
Reading a story this closely, and authoring a whole experience from it, takes real time and care, so I take only a handful of couples each year. It begins with a call: an easy, unhurried conversation where you drop your lore and I quietly start doing what I do. Most couples leave it having felt something they never have with a photographer, the small click of actually being read. That feeling sets the tone. From there, it's yours to decide.

I got here the long way: an MA in literature, a decade teaching it, and fifteen years behind a camera in the wildest places I could find. I built ky khalil co after I stopped resisting my inner calling and at last alchemized all of the things I do best into what I do now for couples all over the world. I read the story the two of you are already living, closely, and I build a whole wedding experience around what I find. Most couples have never been read that closely. I'm told it feels the way reading a book feels the moment the story clicks: when the scattered, seemingly random twists and turns suddenly cohere into a throughline that was there all along. Except this time the story is your own, and the throughline is the two of you.

This is my home ground, and I know the gold and silver states in my bones: Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, Big Sur, the Redwoods, Valley of Fire, Great Basin. Travel across California and Nevada is included, and because I've roamed here for decades, I can take us to the spots most people never find. Some of the most beautiful places on earth are practically my backyard.
CA/NV packages start at 5,800 USD for 4 hours of photography coverage. Full-day sunrise-to-sunset coverage, multi-day, and custom packages available.

Yosemite
I'm based in the Lake Tahoe area on the California-Nevada line, and I photograph elopements and weddings worldwide. California and the Sierra are my home turf (Tahoe, Yosemite, out to the coast) but I'll go wherever the story leads, from Moab to the Dolomites to a courthouse in your hometown. Travel is never an added or additional fee and distance has never once been a thing that stopped me.
For a one-day domestic event, elopement and wedding packages start at 8,800 USD, with most couples investing between 9,600-10,200 USD depending on hours of coverage, number of locations, and add-ons like star-sessions or film packages. Every collection is built around the experience, so what shifts the number is how much of your story we're documenting and where.
Every package includes the full experience: the read that brings me into your story and helps me design your day(s) around it, guided planning (or close collaboration with your wedding planner as desired), location and logistics help (including timeline building, permit support, location scouting), coverage on the day, and a gallery of high-resolution, hand-edited digital and/or film photos. Depending on the package, it can also include a second photographer, film, and an engagement or anniversary session. Working with me is about way more than the images, because working with me means at no point during the planning process will you feel alone or overwhelmed with logistics.
I'm there with you from vision to finish. Unlimited planning support, permit guidance, location decisions and scouting, it's all built into every wedding and elopement I help co-author, and planning support is never a paid add-on.
For the adventurous sort, I'm a former National Park employee, a NOLS-trained outdoor educator, and a Leave No Trace Master Educator, so permits, timelines, location scouting, sunrise math, and guest logistics are all part of what you get. Most of my couples say that with all the planning we did together, finally getting to meet on the day felt like hanging out with a friend they'd known for years.
I photograph bespoke celebrations including adventure elopements, city and courthouse elopements, intimate weddings, national park weddings, destination weddings, and celebrations of all kinds all over the world. Whether it's a pre-dawn hike to a summit or a backyard with your ten favorite people, the throughline is the same: whatever we will will be unmistakably yours.
A guest-free elopement is still a wedding, and it's honestly one of my favorite things to document (and an honor to be the only one there to witness). I'm ordained, so I can officiate if you'd like, and I'm a pro at finding you a witness in the moment when your license requires one (park rangers are my favorite go-to, as are other cute couples on trail!)
Most couples book 6-12 months out, but I take last-minute dates whenever my calendar allows! I can wrangle 12th-hour chaos with the best of them so if you want to elope, say, in *checks notes* 2 weeks, as long as I've got an opening in my calendar, you can count me in.
Not even a little, and most of my couples swear they're "not photogenic" and exactly 0 proof of that ever shows up in the gallery. I hate being in front of the camera too, so I direct from a place of empathy for that woe. We keep it playful and moving and I'm often photographing in-between moments where you forget I'm there. Knowing what to do with your hands is my job. But it's also my job not just to make sure that you look good, but that you feel good, relaxed, and dropped-in to the moment you're living while the camera is out, too.
Yes, engagement sessions are available (and surprise engagement sessions, my favorite), and so is And Again, my offering for documenting your story long after your wedding day: anniversaries, everyday life, family gatherings, portraits with your dog, babymoons, maternity, first family photos... you name it. I'd love to keep telling your story.
Bonus points if it's a surprise engagement, I WILL disguise myself and hide in the bushes (I SAID co-CONSPIRATOR)
Want to document your travels or early years together as a couple? I'm here for the prologue, too.
For co-conspirators who feel too attached to part ways after your vows: the good news is, we don't have to.
