RACHEL AND DMITRI ELOPE IN THE WATER

Rachel and Dmitri said pass on the aisle and instead found a place to say their vows where they could root down into the very earth beneath their feet. We hand picked the spot, and when the moment came they waded in and, surrounded by roots and the water, spoke their vows.

What followed was pure whimsy: a run through the forests and meadows, a dress (that I'm convinced was made by faeries) in the wildflowers, two people so delighted by each other that the art honestly just made itself. 

When I asked Rachel what she envisioned for her photographs, the first words out of her mouth were "whimsy, magic, movement." This, I believe, I made happen, and the playfulness between these two and the magic of the light that day gave me some of my favorite photographs I've ever taken.
